Lyndale Ave. S. & W. 28th St.
The Ackerberg Group was selected as part of a partnership that will renovate a church and add a retail/condo building within the Lyn-Lake area of Minneapolis. The partnership, comprised of Salem English Lutheran Church, Lyndale United Church of Christ, The Ackerberg Group, Brighton Development Corporation, and Urban Anthology, will add vibrancy to the site that is currently owned by Salem English Lutheran Church.
The 1904 church would be preserved and include a new lobby, allowing the two congregations to share facilities within the renovated building. A new four-story, condo building with approximately 16,000 square feet of ground-level retail space would line Lyndale Avenue. The Ackerberg Group and Urban Anthology would co-own and develop the retail space, while Brighton Development Corporation would manage the project and develop the housing component. Parking would be handled through a mixture of underground parking for the housing and surface parking for the churches and retailers.

The congregations will maintain their separate identities, the unique partnership will allow for the sharing of an updated facility and improved long-term viability.
