1101 W. Broadway Building wins prestigious industry award

Minneapolis, MN - The 1101 W. Broadway Building received the 2007 NAIOP Award for Excellence in the Repositioned/Renovated (0-150,000 sq. ft.) category. NAIOP, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, recognizes exceptional developments by its members. A panel of 20 independent judges rate projects based on a range of criteria, including site development and landscaping, architectural integrity, interior design, integration into the community, market feasibility, and unique challenges.

The renovation of the 1101 W. Broadway Building is the culmination of hard work, a great yet challenging location, the right partners, and participation by many parties. What began as a City-acquired, vacant and dilapidated building is now a vibrant, high-quality, community-focused building with a credit union, community development organization, and a coffee shop. There are neighborhood-serving tenants, eyes on the street, community shared parking, and a building back on the tax roll. 1101 W. Broadway has been transformed from an eyesore and liability to become an example of what can be accomplished through strong partnerships even with the most challenged buildings.
