Local fashion boutique, Covered, to open Uptown store

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Fashion boutique, Covered, will open in the Lumen on Lagoon project in late spring. The Uptown store will be their second location, after opening their Dinkytown store in 2006. The new boutique will continue to offer women's premium denim while expanding their selection of dresses, tops, separates, shoes, and accessories. The Uptown store will also offer a variety of men's clothing, such as denim, casual tops, sweaters, and jackets.

Covered recently received national recognition from Lucky magazine in a February 2008 story about why Minneapolis is one of the best new cities to shop in. Covered has been featured in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, Twin Cities Fashion and Luxury Magazine, Metro Magazine, Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, and the Minnesota Daily.

"Covered is a fashion icon on the campus of the University of Minnesota, the pulse of fashion trends for the Twin Cities" said Jeff Herman of Urban Anthology, who is the leasing agent. "Graduating to the sophisticated shopping mecca of Uptown and the home of power clothing boutiques such as Ivy, Intoto, The Design Collective and formerly Josi Wert, was a logical and brilliant growth strategy for this up and coming designer retailer."

Occupying the corner space at 1201 Lagoon Avenue, Covered will join Snap Fitness, CorePower Yoga, and two soon-to-be-announced retailers at the Lumen on Lagoon project. The Lumen on Lagoon project was developed by The Ackerberg Group and CAG Development and opened in May 2007.
